The girl was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta north on Highway 41 near Rathdrum at high speed Friday afternoon when she lost control. She hit a traffic-light pole at Wyoming Avenue and was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries Saturday. Police say alcohol and drugs were not factors.
