Authorities say 38-year-old Patrick Havas pushed through a Democratic Party tent at the Canfield Fair and lunged toward Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, knocking down volunteers and injuring two older adults in the process. Acton’s Ohio State Highway Patrol security detail apprehended him before he reached her.
Police say Havas was carrying two concealed firearms and brass knuckles but did not brandish the guns during the incident. Acton was not injured and remained at the fair to help one of those who was hurt. Havas faces two assault charges and a disorderly conduct charge as authorities continue investigating.
