Wander Franco, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop, was convicted of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in the Dominican Republic but won’t serve prison time. The judge ruled Franco was also a victim of extortion by the girl’s mother. MLB has kept him on leave since 2023 and hasn’t decided whether to reinstate him.
