Alexander Harrington, 50, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 77-year-old mother, Susan Baratto, at their home in Delray Beach, Florida. Authorities say Harrington contacted law enforcement on Sept. 11 and allegedly told dispatchers that he had killed his mother; deputies responding to the home found Baratto dead.
Harrington had described himself online as an “intuitive healer” and life coach. The day before his mother’s death, he posted a video discussing forgiveness and healing from past hurts. Authorities have not publicly announced a motive, and Harrington is being held without bond.
