Corie Walsh, 40, of Frankfort, Illinois, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son, Barrett Walsh. Prosecutors say witnesses described Walsh as having become “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial and said she had been discussing the case with friends in text messages just hours before her son’s death.
Authorities allege Walsh killed her son during what her defense attorney has described as a psychotic episode. Prosecutors say Walsh made statements to investigators about her son and that three other children who were in the home were unharmed. The allegations against Walsh have not yet been adjudicated.
