<p>Detectives are looking for three attackers after a CTA passenger was shoved off a moving Red Line train and landed on the electrified third rail Monday afternoon in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, officials said. </p><p><a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/2026/09/07/labor-day-weekend-shooting" target="_blank" >The death marked the ninth homicide of the long holiday weekend. </a> </p><p>About 2:30 p.m. Monday, a fight erupted aboard the train in the first block of West 69th Street, and three people involved in the altercation pushed a male of an unknown age off the train, Chicago police said.. </p><p>The victim, who came in contact with the third rail, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. </p><p>Area 1 detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. No arrests have been reported. <br> </p>
