James Len Ramey, 54, ran the operation from an Athens auto shop, converting liquid methamphetamine at a lab in Monroe. He distributed thousands of kilos to dealers across the region. Federal investigators broke the case after a tip in January 2024. Ramey will serve consecutive life sentences with no parole eligibility.
