Newly unsealed federal court records provide a more detailed timeline of the night 18-year-old Anna Kepner was killed aboard Carnival Horizon in November 2025. Prosecutors say Anna entered cabin 8343 at 7:38 p.m. and never emerged. The following morning, a crew member found her wrapped in a blanket and hidden underneath a bed behind a box of life vests.

Prosecutors allege her 16-year-old stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, blocked Anna’s brother from entering the cabin for approximately two minutes shortly after midnight. Anna’s brother eventually entered and slept for about nine hours without knowing her body was just feet away. Hudson has since been charged as an adult with murder and aggravated sexual assault and could face two life sentences if convicted.
