Penn State accounting student Agostino Abbatiello, 24, is accused of playing a central role in a cocaine trafficking operation involving members of the Sigma Chi and Delta Upsilon fraternities. An alleged accomplice testified that Abbatiello began selling cocaine for both money and popularity before eventually becoming known on campus as “The Godfather.”
Court testimony alleges that the operation sourced cocaine from suppliers in New York and Philadelphia, while Abbatiello hosted afterparties where cocaine was sometimes provided for free. Prosecutors say fraternity pledges were also recruited to cut and package drugs. Thirteen fraternity brothers have been charged in connection with the alleged operation.
