The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is being drained for repairs following vandalism and damage from the Fourth of July fireworks display. The pool was supposed to be ready for the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, but peeling paint and algae blooms forced another round of fixes. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum says crews will clean up debris, repair vandalism, and refill the water. At least one former Olympian has been arrested in connection to damage to the pool’s liner.
